Baby swimming is not about water safety nor drown-proofing. Read some important research-based benefits of baby swimming:
- Babies need different kinds of movements and physical activities during their first year of life in order to develop higher functions of the brain.
- As babies move about in the water, they develop actions they wouldn’t otherwise have had the opportunity to experience, improving core muscle development and co-ordination;
- Through a complete physical work-out in the water: your baby’s heart, lungs and respiratory system will get stronger, – stimulating brain development;
- The water activities will improve eating and sleeping patterns;
- Your baby will increase language awareness and understanding as he learns to respond to commands, making your baby sharper mentally;
- Learned experiences in the water environment encourages baby to be more confident and relaxed, and for you to be more relaxed with your child;
- Sharing the water activities is an excellent way to bond with your child;
- It is fun, and socially stimulating (for both you and your baby!)
